What a Friend We Have in Jesus

Sitting here listening to Aretha Franklin's Amazing Grace Album and the song, What A Friend We Have in Jesus begins to play. And I start thinking about how my brother, Jomo Wilson just sent his family a text message asking for prayer as he prepares to take a test at school. And how he knows the power of prayer at 18 years old; Aretha's belting of "...oh what peace we forfeit, what needless pain ...we bear, all because we do not carry everything to the Lord in prayer..."Where does this wisdom come from? It comes from those that pray.It comes to those who know how to pray. This peace to leave everything to Jesus in prayer is what I witnessed in my brother's request, and then moments later our mother sends out a text saying, "call the troops, your brother needs you; Jomo needs prayer as he prepares for his 1pm test."And immediately I stop what I'm doing and begin to call on Jesus, thanking Him for already bringing victory.God is good, because He gives us everything we need, even before we need it; be it struggle, hardships, joy, pain; everything we need we are already possess, in prayer.Thank you Holy Spirit. Thank you for the guidance of my mother and father. Thank you for the experiences you have blessed before me. Thank you for the increase allowing me to endure the storms and sun. Thank you for never allowing me to walk alone. As a Jomo prepares for his test, I ask for you to lift him up so that he is able to demonstrate Your will and Your love.In Your name, Ase.
